It has been a while since we met at the 2016 Wine Makers event, however I just wanted to pass on how great the food was at The Sunny Kids Event at Ken Mill’s Toyota on Saturday night. My wife and I really enjoyed it and the people around us commented on how good it was considering how hard it would be to feed so many people and maintain such a high standard.
Thank you so much to you and your team for all your hard work. The food was incredible and everyone I spoke to said they really enjoyed it ( the vegetarians and vegans said their food was great!) We are so thankful for all the extra effort you went to for us, it really was fantastic and we would highly recommend you to anyone! You have been so helpful the whole process and I cannot thank you enough!

Just wanted to share our utmost thanks and gratitude for the advice, support and help provided by Mick and the team at Capelli’s.
We got an initial quote for our wedding from Mick as we were super impressed by his delicious cocktail menu. Unfortunately, due to an extremely tight budget, we eventually went with someone else. Despite this, Mick continued to be very generous with his time and considerable expertise and my Mum and I were in touch with Mick a few times over the proceeding few months, where he was more than happy to give us all the advice we needed.
We eventually hired Mick and his crack team to run our bar on the night of the reception. His team were outstanding, absolutely professional and efficient at all times and they kept the place humming along perfectly.
We cannot thank Mick enough for the time, energy and effort he gave to us free of charge, simply out of the generosity of his own heart. He took so much stress away from my partner and I with his knowledge and expertise and when you are preparing for a wedding, nothing is more valuable than the removal of stress. Thanks Mick, we’ll always be grateful for the help you gave a young couple with very little clue as to what we were doing.

Our 3 course degustation style dinner was exactly what we wanted and the food was absolutely perfect on the night! Everything from the Antipasto bar at the start, to all the beautiful canapes and the 3 course dinner was wonderful! Praise also to your wonderful team who did a great job on the night of looking our guests. As an event planner and stylist and also a very passionate foodie, the meal was a very important part of our wedding. We wanted something high quality and unique and that’s exactly what you gave us.
Since the wedding we’ve had nothing but praise for the food, it was one of the highlights for our guests. Many of them said that not only was it the best wedding meal they’d ever eaten, but up there with the best meal full stop!

I only have wonderful things to say about Michael, Capelli Foods and the whole crew. From start to finish they were friendly and professional. Thank you for being a large contributing factor towards our holiday in Noosa being so special for the family. Being able to enjoy our getaway, without the worry of preparing many meals for 10 people, made our time away even more relaxing and enjoyable.

Apologies for not getting back to you earlier. We both went straight back to work afternoon so unfortunately no honeymoon which has made everything a little hectic.
The wedding was incredible and the food completely blew us away. We had guests complimenting our menu all evening and despite very full tummy’s from the canapés, the mains were absolutely perfect! The staff were incredible – so friendly and professional! I have attached some photos taken by our photographer for you and one of us with all our guests.
My only complaint is that I didn’t get to have the Pork Bao which I had been dreaming about because the bridal party attacked our platter while I was walking down the aisle again (things were a bit too emotional the first time round!). If would consider sharing the recipe, I am all ears! No fault of yours – I blame my husband who ate 3 of them in addition to all the others canapés.
We cannot thank you enough for your amazing support and fantastic team! You made the catering process a breeze and put my bridezilla moments at ease even for non-food related things! My dad is still going on about the food and he is a difficult man to please! Our vegan guests also LOVED the options you created for them.

We saw Capelli’s banquet menu online and it looked perfect for our backyard wedding. We decided to go ahead with a food trial to sample Michael’s culinary abilities before making the final decision. Michael came to our house for the trial and without a doubt proved that Capelli was what we were after. Michael was well-prepared, professional, down-to-earth and more than happy to chat and explain his creations to us. The dishes we selected were sensational and exceeded our expectations (the pork belly and roasted lamb rump were favourites!) Not to mention, the desserts — beautifully-crafted and exquisite flavours. Needless to say, we proceeded with booking Capelli and have the utmost confidence that the food will be a very memorable part of our wedding.

Right from our initial conversation, Michael sounded like he was well organized as far as his prompt return of phone calls and the first draft of the courses we intended to have for our menu. Twenty-six guests for our wedding including a handful of food and beverage industry professionals.
Champagne and canapés were served on the deck followed with a five course degustation with matching wines from Austria, France and premium South Australian selections. Michael’s team worked in and around our guests seamlessly for over six hours without any fuss. Kitchen service was quiet and extremely efficient, whilst his team of wait staff were professional, courteous and very responsive.
In my career of twenty plus years managing premium restaurants, hotels and wineries across Australia, I am very pleased to recommend Michael Hehir’s company Capelli Foods, to anyone seeking a premium culinary experience at the premises of their choice.
My wife and I agreed that the evening was without any doubt, a complete success due to Michael and his teams’ attitude and professionalism.

Michael and his team from Capelli Foods recently provided catering for a corporate dinner of 300+ persons that I was responsible for the co-ordination of. An event such as this brings with it numerous logistical challenges, however Michael and his team handled everything with no fuss whatsoever.
The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and I received a lot of positive feedback from the attendees to the dinner. Thank you so much for helping to make this event such a success!
What a wonderful way to enjoy the night, friends, good wine and great food in the comfort of one our homes.
The food started with two entrées to choose from – crispy pork belly on pureed cauliflower (my mouth is watering just thinking about it) and Hervey Bay scallops with pancetta and a micro salad (divine). Our private chef had made everything to perfection.
As we enjoyed our first course, our chef went back to the kitchen and prepared the main course. We had a selection of duck, and not just any duck – it was the most succulent confit duck leg I had ever had. It was literally falling off the bone. The other main we chose was Nolan’s eye fillet. The meat was so tender and went so well with the eggplant parmigiana. I was so full by the end of the first and second course and there was still more to come.
The final course: dessert! Time to get SWEET. We had the Moscato pear mille-feuille – I still don’t know how I managed to fit that in but I finished the plate; it was just too tasty to stop. We also had mocha brûlée with an almond biscotti, served in a cute little coffee cup.
They say you eat with your eyes and all our food was exceptionally presented and all done in the comfort of a friend’s house. By the end of the dessert our chef cleaned up the kitchen and started packing away all his things and we were left to enjoy the rest of our night.
All in all this had been one the best nights out for a while, not to mention some of the best food I have ever eaten. I will definitely be doing this again, but next time I’ll try the Lamb.
Just a short note to say thank you for the wonderful job done catering my wedding in September. Taking a leap of faith and booking an ‘out of town’ caterer I had never sampled before was nerve-wracking for me, but I needn’t have worried for a second. My guests are STILL raving about the food and everything went so smoothly from the first time I contacted you!
Your staff looked after my guests brilliantly, particularly my two pregnant friends who were provided with plates of ‘baby friendly’ food just for them (after a moment of panic as they realised they were unable to eat the first few canapés that came out). Everyone was well fed with food of a very high quality and my husband and I did not have to worry about a thing on the night.
Thanks again for such a fabulous class. :) Olivia really enjoys it and it’s so lovely for us to come and share with her, I just love that aspect of the classes the best I think.

I’m sorry it has taken Andy and I so long to let you know how much we appreciated Capelli’s catering for our recent wedding on the 16th December at Rainbow beach. We can claim many excuses for this including the busy nature of weddings, the sensuous honeymoon, Christmas and new year silly season. But if truth be told we have just been dwelling in the luxury of early wedded bliss and then alternatively madly getting back into the exercise regime to lose the wedding and honeymoon kilos.
We were absolutely impressed with the food, the service and the friendly, professional and discrete staff you sent to serve for our special day. Thank you and your staff for helping to make our day memorable for us and our guests. We could not have asked for better service or a more beautiful menu.

Capelli catered for our small and stylish beach wedding – every aspect was impressive from the menu choices (we wanted organic local produce and a lot of vegetarian fare) and price ($30 a head) to the flexibility of staff in accommodating my nervous fiddling with the menu. The food looked beautiful and tasted amazing: everyone was crazy about the stuffed zucchini flowers. Nothing was too much trouble for Carolyn and I have pleasure in recommending Capelli’s to anyone looking for up-to-the minute catering hidden away in regional Queensland!
We had a great night and weekend. The food was fabulous, although there was a bit of fighting over the entrees. The pork belly was amazing and those that had it were not too keen to share. The duck melted in our mouths and the brûlée was fantastic. Muhammad was very friendly yet professional and we could not have asked for better. What a joy it is, when travelling for work, staying in a regional city with little appreciation of where one should eat, to stumble upon a gem such as Capelli on Duke! This is dining at its best. The tapas menu allows the diner to partake of, in fact to indulge oneself in, a rich variety of dishes from a splendidly conceived menu. Each dish was beautifully prepared and presented. And the flavours! It was a ride between the pleasure of the delicacy presently before you and the anticipation of the next to come.
Fabulous! As I was leaving after my first experience of Capelli there was only one last thing left to do – book for the following night! Gympie should be proud and grateful to have a restaurant which would stand up and be counted in any of the major cities. See you again soon, I hope.
Wow, we had the most gorgeous dinner at your place last night. How great that Gympie finally has such a beautiful restaurant. We’ll definitely be back soon – actually thinking about coming in this Friday night. The atmosphere was so intimate and the decor elegantly simple and the fairy lights won me over completely. The food was out of this world and not unreasonably priced like fine dining can be. The Shiraz was excellent but most of all I adored the big glasses. My husband has broken all of mine over the years so I was thrilled to find out that you sell them at the restaurant. I know what I’m asking hubby to buy me for Christmas.
The wicker chairs on the deck actually looked uncomfortable so I was so surprised that they were completely the opposite. I can’t say what my favourite dish was but I did LOVE the zucchini flowers. How fantastic! My husband took me to Benardos on the night he proposed and we paid an absolute fortune for some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten. I only wish he’d taken me to Capelli. Thank you so much for a beautiful evening. I look forward to many more.

It was good to be able to do our “own thing” and the instructions were super clear and so easy to have everything looking professional. I especially loved the whole canapé menu and was very happy with my choices. Also the children absolutely RAVED over the gluten free mini meatballs – I don’t suppose you could share the recipe could you? After moving to Gympie from Spain we wanted to start our new life with a house-warming party for our new friends. The intention was to give them an idea where we were coming from and what life and food was to us before. For that reason we chose the tapas variations from Capelli Food. We hired chef Mick to cater for our event. He came an hour before everybody arrived and brought lots of amazing different kinds of tapas. He prepared them fresh when everybody arrived. It was a continuous flow of wonderful food that went on for 2 hours. Everybody enjoyed the opportunity to try new dishes and probably fell in love with new things they didn’t know before. This was a truly special and great night and helped to make us feel at home and welcome right away.

We had a wonderful night and hope we were not too noisy. Some of the costumes were really out there. WOW. The restaurant had a very homely feel and even though it was well attended we felt like we were the only ones there. Capelli Foods catered my wedding. With little resources or direction the outcome was a success with the bride, groom and guests raving! Very organised. Fresh/organic produce used producing delicious meals. Lots of comments about the lamb cutlets!!! Courteous and professional staff throughout the whole process. I would recommend Capelli to anyone for any event and I cannot wait to visit the restaurant!

We recently held my husband’s 40th birthday at Capelli on Duke. Having been in marketing and events my entire working career and lived overseas enjoying many wonderful dining experiences I have a high standard and expectation when it comes to special occasions and what a venue needs to deliver.
We hired the restaurant for the evening and hosted 30 guests at a large decorated single banquet table – it looked amazing. We had friends from Sydney, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast all make the trip to Gympie for this evening. Michael, Lisa and the team were amazing we had full access to the restaurant on the day to do all the decorating for the evening, nothing was to much trouble. The menu that was designed for the night was nothing short of spectacular and the food that was delivered to all our guests was exactly that!
The service was impeccable and the team of wait staff couldn’t do enough for us all. Our friends were taken aback that such a high quality restaurant existed in our regional town! They were all so impressed by the food and still talk about it today. One couple who regularly travel to dine at some of the best gustatory places Queensland has to offer said Capelli on Duke was up there with the best, and they would be back to dine again!
I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of food and service not to mention the space itself, thank you and I can recommend Capelli on Duke to anyone whether it be just dine out and enjoy great food or to host a special dinner Capelli on Duke should be top of your list.

Your team were a delight to work with and excelled in everything they did on the night in extreme weather conditions.
